Products like soy milk are now becoming more popular among consumers. One of the main reasons for this is its packaging. These drinks are usually packed in stand up bags which guarantee a longer shelf life. Beverages were traditionally stored in bottles or cans, but pouches offer a much cheaper and compact approach.

Other drinks like juices can also be packed in such pouches. A juice pouch is made of very high quality material. This material prevents the entry of sunlight and germs. It also prevents dirt and pollen to contaminate the contents.

A small covered hole is made at the top of the pouch. It can be easily pierced with a straw. Liquid packaging can be done in various sizes. While smaller ones have covered holes for straws, bigger ones have spouts for easy pouring. Storeowners too prefer to keep such compact pouches.

The food and beverage packaging industry was looking for better storage methods than bottles, and this is when pouches were introduced. Standup pouches took the old idea of plastic bags and redefined them.

Standup pouches are lightweight and are made of several layers. They don’t take up a lot of area in a landfill, and are thus more eco friendly than bottles and cans.
