Stand Up Pouches for Product Packaging

Are Materials in Stand Up Pouch Bags Safe for Food?

Stand up packaging is quickly becoming one of the most popular packaging options for food and a variety of products. More and more stand up bags are seen in big supermarkets because they are more cost effective than other types of packaging, are easier to use, and can be printed with beautiful graphics on the entire surface of the bag. As companies of all sizes hear more about stand up bags, we get a wider variety of questions regarding this excellent packaging option. One frequent and valid concern is if the materials used to make the bag can contaminate the food being packaged.

Any worries about product contamination by the package are quickly erased after we tell customers that we only use FDA approved food grade materials. Although a variety of films can be used to help package a product, the only type of materials that go on the inside of the bag (the ones that touch the food) are ones that have been approved by the FDA for food. When customers take their questions a step further and ask about the safety of the inks that go on our pouch bags, we are always happy to tell them that not only do we only use water soluble, approved inks, those inks never come into contact with food products in any case.
