Flexible Retail Packaging -- October's Fast Five

fast_five
While we continue to concentrate on flexible retail packaging for our clients in North America, packaging in general continues to be a "hot" topic throughout the world.  Here are this month's best articles so far:

Meat does have considerable environmental impact.  The best quote from the article is eye opening..."When you throw away just one pound of meat because it turned brown or bad, you're throwing away 50 pounds of greenhouse gas -- about the same as burning 3 gallons of gasoline without going anywhere."

StandUpPouches.net worked to create the Ditch The Box program to emphasize the advantages of using flexible retail packaging such as stand up pouches, spouted stand up bags, even flat barrier bags in place of other types of packaging.

Note the packaging!  Fresh, innovative flavors of soup means innovative packaging.  In this case custom stand up bags instead of cans.  The article does not identify if the soup can be cooked directly in the bags but with the right material structure this is possible!  Soup in printed flexible packaging is growing in popularity.

Organic and natural foods are in demand with no end in sight.  Known for it's rabbit shaped mac-and-cheese sales at Annies are up 20% from last year ($204 million).

Printed flexible packaging, in particular custom stand up bags, not only helped build a brand but protects the contents and our enviroment.
