[Stand up packaging](https://www.standuppouches.net/contact-us/) in the form of [pouch bags ](https://www.standuppouches.net/help/)is truly the wave of the future when it comes to packaging food, and many other products sold on supermarket shelves. We aren't just saying that because we make flexible bags for packaging either. To see where packaging is headed, all you need to do is check out supermarkets in Europe and Asia. Stores in those parts of the world have helped spur the evolution of packaging simply because they have much less space to work with. Therefore, flexible plastic packaging has become the norm and it's used for everything from cereal to various types of liquids. Since flexible [creative food packaging](https://www.standuppouches.net/our-process/in-a-hurry/sample-request/) is also more cost effective and better for the environment, products like shampoo and others that have traditionally used rigid containers are also being sold in flexible, spouted bags.

Traditional packaging for liquids includes a twist cap. Although there has been more of a market for liquid packaging that doesn't use caps, twist on and off spouts continue to be popular and have been incorporated into some interesting new designs. One such design includes moving the spout away from the actual printed area on the pouch. This doesn’t take away from the printed, branded effect and the pouch can still stand up. Yet another design has the spout on the bottom of the bag.
