He then started Happy Trails Chili company with his family, sealing the then cellophane bags with… A curling iron! Genius. This went on for some time as Happy Trails chili mix gained traction and became a hot household commodity.  After taking a short hiatus, Tom went back at the business full-force 6 years ago. His efforts did not go unwarranted; he won the world championship in 2010 and took home the $25,000 prize money. A world-class chili brand was born.
