As the diagram below shows, we measure stand up pouches by the outside dimensions. The width being the opening, and the height/length measured top to bottom. The bottom gusset can be a little confusing. We try to tell our clients to open the pouch and measure the pouch (again…outside dimensions) at its widest point.
NOTE: This is not always an exact dimension (for the bottom gusset), but it is one that will get you close enough to get started.
Measuring Spouted Pouches
We measure spouted pouches the same way as regular stand up pouches, except, of course, for the spout. Here, you’ll need to know the following additional information:
- The size of the spout you want. Check out our Available Spouts or check out Non-Stock But Available Unique Spouts (both links open PDFs).
- If you want the spout in the center or on one of the corners
- If you want to fill through the spout itself or through a void left in the pouch for filling.
